WebTimotheus of Miletus (446BC - 357BC) was a Greek musician and lyrical, dithyrambic poet (see additional note, below). As a writer, he specialised in works of historical and mythical character. As a musician he incurred the wrath of the Spartans and Athenians by adding to the number of strings on the lyre.
